Comic actor Dave Foley got his start doing standup at the Toronto Second City Training Center, where he met Kevin McDonald and soon after formed the original group that would become “The Kids in the Hall.” The show debuted in 1989 and became one of the most beloved and influential sketch shows of all time—Foley’s famous characters include Hecubus, the A.T. & Love boss, Bruno Puntz Jones, Mr. Heavyfoot, Jocelyn and Lex. Paul Simms, creator of “NewsRadio,” was a huge fan of Foley’s wrote, and wrote the role of Dave Nelson specifically for him. Foley starred alongside Maura Tierney, Phil Hartman, Stephen Root and Andy Dick in the successful sitcom which ran for five seasons. Foley co-wrote and starred in the comedy “The Wrong Guy,” voiced Flik in Disney/Pixar’s “A Bug’s Life,” and gave life to the voices of all of the Baldwin brothers in “South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.” He hosted Bravo’s “Celebrity Poker Showdown” and has guested on several television shows including “Becker,” “Carpoolers” and “Scrubs.” SF Sketchfest is thrilled to welcome Foley back to the fest for the fourth time.
