The Barbary at Outside Lands, co-curated by SF Sketchfest!

Another Planet Entertainment, Superfly Presents and Starr Hill Presents are excited to announce an eclectic lineup for the comedy and variety tent known as The Barbary, which is again co-curated by SF Sketchfest. Named in honor of San Francisco’s infamous Barbary Coast district and residing in the world-famous Victoria Spiegeltent on loan from Belgium, The Barbary is a turn of the century “magic-mirror tent,” with walls made of oak-framed mirrors and ceiling adorned in stained glass, providing the perfect setting for a true post-modern vaudevillian mix of stand-up, sketch comedy, music and more.

The Barbary will be headlined by Jeffrey Ross, Craig Robinson, and Maria Bamford, Eugene Mirman. Rob Huebel and Wyatt Cenac. The Roastmaster General, Jeffrey Ross, will set his sites on our native town for two shows as Jeffrey Ross Roasts San Francisco. Called “an heir apparent to such old-school masters as Buddy Hackett and Rodney Dangerfield” by the New York Times, Jeffrey Ross is feared and revered for his appearances at celebrity roasts.

Craig Robinson, perhaps best known for his award-nominated role as “Darryl Philbin” on The Office and for the films Hot Tub Time Machine and This Is the End, flexes considerable musical talent by bringing his keyboard to accompany his extraordinary material, delivery, and commanding stage presence for two shows in the tent.

Maria Bamford, about whom Judd Apatow told the Los Angeles Times is “hysterically funny,” can currently be seen on the new season of Arrested Development and performing in her living room for her parents on the direct-to-fans event, Maria Bamford: The special special special!

Eugene Mirman, known for Delocated and Bob’s Burgers, was named one of the 10 best comedians of the last decade by Paste Magazine and is the co-founder of the hugely popular Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival.

Rob Huebel, scene-stealer from Childrens Hospital, Human Giant and much more, brings his experimental variety show Crash Test for two shows, where he and his friends will do pretty much whatever they want.

Wyatt Cenac, best known as a fan-favorite correspondent for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, brings his new Brooklyn-based variety show Night Train to the tent for two shows with separate lineups.

The weekend also features appearances by Bruce McCulloch, Natasha Leggero, Matt Braunger, Morgan Murphy, Nick Thune, Joe Mande, Bridget Everett and the Tender Moments, Dave Hill, Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction with Bryan Cook, Moshe Kasher, Ari Shaffir, Emily Heller, Kate Berlant, Jesse Elias, Thao Nguyen and Singin’ & Pingin’: DJ Purple + American Tripps Present Berlin-Style Ping Pong + Dance Karaoke Party!
