Benson-The-Rock2

The Benson Movie Interruption:
“The Rock”
20th Anniversary
With Doug Benson and friends

“The Rock is a tourist attraction?” It’s been twenty years since FBI chemical weapons specialist Dr. Stanley Goodspeed (Nicolas Cage, at his Nicolas Cage-iest) teamed up with prisoner and British Nationalist John Mason (Sean Connery, hair all akimbo) to try and stop Brigadier General Frank Hummel (Ed Harris, hair not-so-akimbo) and his mercs from destroying San Francisco from atop our very own Alcatraz Island. Michael Bay’s sophomore film “The Rock” will receive a royal ribbing from master riffer Doug Benson and friends from safe inside the confines of the historic Castro Theatre for one afternoon only.

Found-Footage

Found Footage Festival
All-New Show

The Found Footage Festival is a one-of-a-kind event showcasing videos found at garage sales and thrift stores and in warehouses and dumpsters throughout North America. Curators Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher take audiences on a guided tour of their latest and greatest VHS finds, providing live commentary and where-are-they-now updates on the people in these videotaped obscurities. From the curiously-produced industrial training video to the forsaken home movie donated to Goodwill, the Found Footage Festival resurrects these forgotten treasures and serves them up in a lively celebration of all things found.
