Something funny is happening in our city, and it has nothing to do with the Mayor’s hair. Sketchfest returns with 16 days of gut-busting, taste-testing, and ever-topical comedy. Things kick off with Adult Swim’s Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, as they take a break from the amateur animation and fake commercials to bring their brand of creepy, manic-depressive sketch comedy to Mezzanine’s stage. Also on deck is a tribute to late-night TV’s true star, Conan O’Brien; Monty Python’s Terry Jones presenting a 35th-anniversary screening of Monty Python and the Holy Grail; a night of improv by the Upright Citizen’s Brigade; an Obama roast; and more standup acts than you can squeeze into a clown car.
