Director, writer, producer, actor, comedian, podcaster, comic book writer and raconteur Kevin Smith gained fame after his first film, the Sundance Film Festival favorite Clerks, was released. He’s written and directed several films since, including Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Clerks II, Jersey Girl, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, and his most recent, the horror flick Red State. He’s currently working on the hockey drama-comedy Hit Somebody. He co-hosts SModcast, a hit weekly podcast, with his long-time producing partner Scott Mosier. As an actor, his often appears in his own films as beloved character Silent Bob. Other film appearances include Catch and Release, Die Hard 4: Live Free or Die Hard, Southland Tales, and Bottoms Up. He directed the pilot for the series Reaper, and has appeared on Veronica Mars, Phineas and Ferb, Yes, Dear, Joey, Law & Order and Degrassi: The Next Generation. He’s written for several comic series, including Daredevil, Black Cat, and The Amazing Spider-Man.
