Jim Dirschberger and Jay Howell


Jim Dirschberger is an independent animator and filmmaker who runs Eighty Four Films, a Los Angeles-based production company that produces original content through collaborative efforts with emerging artists and filmmakers. Dirschberger has produced over 100 short films, including the animated web series “The Forest City Rockers” with “Sanjay and Craig” creator and co-executive producer Jay Howell. His first feature film documentary “Honest Man: The Life of R. Budd Dwyer” was released in 2010. Originally from Buffalo, N.Y., Dirschberger moved to San Francisco where he graduated from the Academy of Art University. He pursued filmmaking and has since then teamed up with numerous Bay Area artists to create successful collaborative animation, music videos, short films and documentaries. Currently, Dirschberger resides in Los Angeles where he enjoys playing videogames, hiking, and making films whenever possible.

Jay Howell is an illustrator, cartoonist and artist best known as the character designer on FOX’s hit show “Bob’s Burgers.” Along with “Sanjay and Craig” creator and co-executive producer, Jim Dirschberger, Howell produced the web cartoon “The Forest City Rockers.” In addition, the pair has created a string of other web commercials for Vans Sneakers, Rebel8 Clothing and The Hundreds Clothing Company. His copious illustration resume also includes working with Burton Snowboards, GT Bicycles, Anti Hero Skateboards, Creature Skateboards and Gnu Snowboards. Currently, Howell and Dirschberger are working on their own animated web series, “Classic Tales,” for Vans’ Offthewall.TV. A talented artist, Howell has been showcasing his art globally for the past 10 years with galleries in Berlin, Australia, San Francisco, New York, and most recently, in Los Angeles. Whenever he can, Howell enjoys drawing, painting and sculpting. He resides in Los Angeles, CA.
