April RichardsonDuncan Trussell
hosted by Red Scott

SF Sketchfest presents a dozen hand-picked stand-up comedians on the rise—names you might not know now, but will be hearing a lot from soon. We’re proud to welcome Sara Benincasa, Michelle Buteau, Erin Foley, Chris Gethard, Hari Kondabolu, Jamie Lee, Joe Mande, Jonah Ray, April Richardson, Dan St. Germain, Duncan Trussell and Glenn Wool, for our third edition!

Hey! I’m April Richardson — I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and now reside in Los Angeles. I really, really enjoy performing stand-up comedy and have done so at places like Comedy Death-Ray, Portland’s Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Seattle’s Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival, and more fancy names that may (or may not?) impress you. (I also made Glenn Danzig laugh once — true story — so I’M LEGIT.) I’ve written things for MTV and been published in various magazines and books (remember those?), so that’s pretty cool, right? I spend my days working on E!’s hit showChelsea Lately, and my nights watching Food Network.

Duncan Trussell is a writer, actor, and stand up comedian. His television credits include Curb Your Enthusiasm, HBO’s Funny or Die, MADtv and Fuel TV’s Stupidface.  In 2010, Duncan starred in the popular segment Drunk History: Nicola Tesla from Funny Or Die Presents (HBO/Funny or Die). His recent writing credits include Nick Swardson’s Pretent Time Seasons 1 & 2 (Comedy Central/Happy Madison) and La La Land (Showtime).  He just finished Thunderbrain a Pilot presentation for Comedy Central and is currently working with Shadow Machine and Tom Gianis on an animated pilot for Comedy Central. As a standup comedian, Duncan performed at the Montreal 2009 Just For Laughs Festival, and regularly performs at premiere comedy venues around the country. He can be seen regularly be regularly seen at the Hollywood Improv and Comedy Store in Los Angeles. Duncan also produces and performs in Comedy Is Dead at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, which has become one of LA’s most prestigious alternative comedy shows. Duncan is a regular guest on Joe Rogan’s podcastThe Joe Rogan Experience (www.joerogan.net), and hosts his own podcast The Lavender Hour with Natasha Leggero.

When not on stage, Red Scott explores the myriad of ways an individual can be indoors and fully protected from the Sun. He beat out 146 comics to win the 2010 Rooster T Feathers Comedy Competition. He performed at 2011 SF Sketchfest. His podcast discussing Game of Thrones, “Boars, Gore, and Swords” has twice been featured on the website BoingBoing. He performs all over the Bay Area, and is a regular at The San Francisco Punch Line, 142 Throckmorton Theatre, The San Jose Improv, and Rooster T Feathers, as well as the usual black box theaters and laundromats.
