SF Sketchfest in the Mission
February 2, 2013 @ 8:00 pm| $15
SF Sketchfest is proud to present their ongoing series of showcases at the intimate Dark Room Theatre in the Mission District! Some of the best emerging sketch, improv, stand-up and alternative comedy in the country and the world!
The Grind is M.I.’s Westside Comedy Theater’s flagship long form improv show. The cast is comprised of the owners of the theater who have been performing together for over a decade. Their roots started in Chicago where they studied and performed improv comedy at some of the most renowned improv schools in he world. These gentlemen would go on to form the national improv touring group Mission IMROVable and spent years touring and performing together at thousands of colleges, comedy clubs and festivals all around the nation. In 2009 they founded M.i.’s Westside Comedy Theater, or the WCT as it’s become known, and never looked back. Come see what many people consider the Grind their favorite improv show in Los Angeles.
Jesse Fernandez shoots collages of ideas into that ether like shotgun blasts into the air. He rearranges half thoughts and feelings like a 4-dimensional jigsaw puzzle and puts the visual representations into his PowerPoint presentations. Then his boss scolds him for slacking off, and Jesse gets back to work as head writer of eBaumsworld.com.
Up, Up, Up!’s been performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre for three years, they’ve written and performed for TV and stuff, and they’ve won a bunch of awards, probably.
