The Bells of Fraggle Rock
with special guest Dave Goelz
All Ages! Bring the Kids!
Celebrate Christmas with the whole family at this very special screening of Jim Henson’s classic holiday tale about Emmet and Ma, who are poor but loving musical folk in Frogtown Hollow. With Christmas coming, they want to give each other a present. A solution to tight-money problems appears in the form of a talent contest offering a $50 prize. This story, adapted by Jerry Juhl from a book by Russell and Lillian Hoban, and featuring original music by Paul Williams, was a technological breakthrough for its time as it marked the first use of radio controlled puppets. Emmet Otter will be preceded by a rare chance to enjoy the classic holiday episode of Henson’s beloved Fraggle Rock series, “The Bells of Fraggle Rock,” in which Gobo goes on a journey to find out if the mythical Great Bell at the heart of Fraggle Rock is real. On hand to kick off the afternoon with an introduction will be famed puppeteer Dave Goelz, who played Boober and Traveling Matt on Fraggle Rock and Wendel, Pop-eyed Catfish, and Will Possum in Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas. Rated G.
